Death Investigation Handbook
I had the honor to work with Roberta and learn from Mary (both names are highlighted in the acknowledgement section). Bertie taught me a lot before she retired from Hennepin County, and Mary was a speaker at the St. Louis Medicolegal Investigations Course that I had the honor of attending this year.
This handbook goes to show that the techniques have been available for law enforcement and death investigators to go by since at least 1999. That is SIX years before Heather Renee died. It was nothing new, it was nothing that Louisiana was unaware of because Mr. Bill Donovan, Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office, Harvey, Louisiana, (his name is also in the acknowledgement section) participated in the development of these guidelines.
